ABOUT CULTURALLY DIVERSE

The origins of CULTURALLY DIVERSE began in 2011 with three educators from Miami, Florida who were influenced by hip hop culture from an early age. Group members C.A.R.L.O.S. and PLAYER 1 have been best friends since the start of their teaching career in the early to mid-2000’s. Moreover, C.A.R.L.O.S and Q.I. have been married since 2010 and currently have two kids together. CULTURALLY DIVERSE is a tight knit group with a strong bond who have shared many experiences together and continue to grow as individuals to maximize their life’s potential and god given talents. CULTURALLY DIVERSE does not seek fame nor fortune but rather an opportunity to be heard and to be part of the music that has been prominent in their collective lives. With the passion and love for hip hop culture and music and with the belief that hip hop is a great tool for educating its listeners through an artform long known to report, expose, and influence critical thought, CULTURALLY DIVERSE, is a group that strikes listeners at its core with sounds and concepts that educate and pay homage to the culture. The group name signifies that CULTURALLY DIVERSE is a different breed of hip hop that focuses on the youth who need a different sound and expression in the hip hop culture. The music is clean and safe to listen to by audiences of all ages and embraces all peoples from all cultures. CULTURALLY DIVERSE is sometimes referred to as, educational hip hop or music therapy for those who need guidance or life coaching. Each song released has a message or central idea that connects with its listeners. THE LAST OF A DYING BREED MIXTAPE, can be listened to as an educational hip hop platform that dives into concepts that bring positive thought-provoking sounds and imagery while maintaining hip hop lyricism and word play. CULTURALLY DIVERSE is all about giving back to the community and the culture. With a strong focus on inspiring our youth with captivating lyrics and thematic songs relevant to the coming of age and external factors that affect our society, CULTURALLY DIVERSE is cemented on making a difference in the hip hop culture and the lives that will explore the sounds of stylistic hip hop, the way of CULTURALLY DIVERSE.

Contagious Audible Rap Lyrics Over Sounds short for C.A.R.L.O.S. was born in Miami, Florida on March 2nd, 1980. Raised on hip hop culture during the dominant golden era of lyricism, C.A.R.L.O.S. evokes his lyrical style on paying tribute to classic emcees and metaphoric word play. As a hip hop artist, C.A.R.L.O.S. creates catchy hooks and songs with substance while writing narrative verses that make you hit rewind or reply to analyze the creative artform and wordplay. As an educator, C.A.R.L.O.S. holds university degrees and extensive knowledge in the field of psychology, social sciences, educational leadership, and youth coaching/mentorship. C.A.R.L.O.S. has three children and is married to fellow CULTRUALLY DIVERSE group member and soulmate Q.I. C.A.R.L.O.S. believes in helping others reach their potential and seeks to help the community find consciousness through connecting our stories and journey to live together in unity while embracing the many talents of others and each individuals diversity.

Player 1, also known as (1UP), the symbol for one player playing a game, is a lyrical genius who plays the game of life with integrity and moral principles. Player 1 basis his artistry and lyrical content on his life experiences. Also born in Miami, Florida on February 9th, 1979, in the now gentrified area formally known as Tobacco Road, Player 1 has faced much adversity in his youth which paves the way for his raw lyrical delivery founded on his life’s experiences. However, Player 1 is far from owning and using a victim mentality. On the contrary, Player 1 uses his words to uplift and promote an approach geared towards morality, values, and tradition. Player 1 holds university degrees in literature, language-arts, curriculum and instruction, and writing. Player 1 is also a dynamic writer whose work has been published in scholarly articles and featured blogs. Player 1 is a father of a beautiful daughter and is married to his longtime elementary childhood sweetheart. Player 1 strives to make a difference by promoting a well rounded approach to enduring adversity and life’s struggle through a lens of commitment to ones self and commitment to ones craft with hard work and tenacity.

The name Q.I. is an acronym for Queen Isis. Q.I. was born on July 21st, 1988, in Miami, Florida in the heart of the City of Miami. Although Q.I. was added on to CULTURALLY DIVERSE during the middle of production on THE LAST OF A DYING BREED MIXTAPE, Q.I. is an essential group member bringing a melodic sound to the group. The uplifting sounds of fan favorite, Q.I. makes the CULTURALLY DIVERSE sound complete. The name Q.I, stems from the Egyptian Goddess Isis, as Q.I. officially dons the name Isis. Q.I. vocalizes, harmonizes, and captures the feeling of each song as listeners are captivated and transported into feelings with natural emotions arising from within each audience member and brought into the song. Singing along to Q.I.’s lyrics and sounds strikes its listeners at its core. Q.I.’s musical roots stem from the sounds of R&B and hip hop, infusing a listening experience that glues the two worlds together. Q.I. is also in the field of education and has degrees in technology and business management. Q.I. is the proud mother of two children with husband and soulmate C.A.R.L.O.S. Her dedication to providing nurture and hope to her listeners is the special and much needed component of CULTURALLY DIVERSE.
